SELAH

Howdy guys…

Each day I wake up and gratitude pours from my heart that my Father has given me another day! As I sit watching the beauty of the sun rise I AM GRATEFUL!!! I am grateful for another day…..another day to see His beauty He has created, another day to make a difference in someone else’s life, another day to leave a legacy of Jesus Christ with my grand babies!!! What a gift!!! I AM GRATEFUL!!

Here’s my thoughts for today….as I read (re-read for the zillionth time) the book “crazy love” …. I continue to be challenged in a new fresh way each time!! God is so good like that!! Ever notice you can read something or a scripture and God will “highlight” it in a completely different way each time? Understand this, if you are eager and desperate to hear God, hear His direction for your life, … Continue Reading

Ministry

So let’s chat about “ministry”…… This message might be a little strong but….so be it!

I have been watching and listening and pondering the “church” and “ministry”. There is something that just keeps rising up in my spirit….. the idea of “what” ministry is and “what” the church’s role is. The Lord has been showing me how complicated things have become and how easy it really is to be the sons and daughters of the Maker of heaven and earth.

Now, if we look to the New Testament for guidance we will see that the “Church” is a reference to the body of Christ. We KNOW that the “church” is not a building, a program, a small group, a prayer group…..IT IS US AS BELIEVERS! We are the CHURCH. As a pastor I always try to help clarify and simplify what God is showing us in His word.

Here’s a … Continue Reading

Noble? What does that mean??

Howdy everyone

Blessings to all of you!!!!

So I have been having quite the time studying all about the different people in the Bible that God has used. Quite extraordinary! The examples, their stories, and their life (not moment) journeys they have traveled….amazing!! My my my we have plenty of room to grow as we learn how God has taken and shaped each for His plans and purposes in the earth for His children….No, life is NOT just about you!! (I am smiling right now…. I need emojis, gif’s or something I think! Haha!)

In Proverbs 31…..many of you know this passage …. starting in verse 10 the word frames a distinct picture of what a “Noble” woman should look like. But let’s broaden the picture a moment and take a look at the picture from a different angle. Though it speaks of a noble woman ….. I … Continue Reading

Bound and Determined

Howdy gang.

So I’ve been reading in the book of Daniel and find it so inspiring. I’d like to share a little with you!

In studying Daniel and his posse (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego), it is easy to conclude there is a “great favor” that rests on those who have complete and sole loyalty with God! Daniel and his small group of Hebrew buddies were unquestioned leaders in the kings court soley because of their divine favor, proving to be faithfully committed in serving under an unbelieving godless king. There is a DELIBERATE (there’s that word again from one of my last blogs) ALLEGIANCE demonstrated towards God as we come into the third chapter where we see King Nebuchadnezzar is reigning.

Now understand, King Nebuchadnezzar is clearly pictured as an idolatrous, prideful king.

Obviously, that is not tolerated for too long in God’s kingdom!

At this point, Daniel, along with … Continue Reading

Bringing it Back

So, I just wanted to share with ya’ll something I am so excited and thankful for….

All pastor’s know that we are required to preach/teach the whole council of God. (Not just our favorite bents) With that in mind, I’d like to follow up from our last blog, “Deliberate Intentions”. In a nut shell, my main emphasis was 2-pronged. One, understanding your enemy will attack and does push his way in violently into our lives sometimes. BUT second, and most importantly, understanding that WE, BEING SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE KING, have victory BECAUSE IT IS OUR FATHER THAT DEFENDS US!! It is HIS GRACE and NOT MY EFFORT that brings the enemy to his knees!

I was so elated to hear Pastor Jamey’s message this last weekend about keeping your eyes and focus on JESUS….and ONLY JESUS!! He purposefully in every message brings the focus back to the … Continue Reading

Deliberate Intentions

Howdy everyone….. and Helloooo Spring!!!!

I hope this nugget finds you well…

So I’ve been quite stirred up with this word “deliberate” lately. Seems to me the Lord has been prompting me about the meaning of this and seems like everything I read or listen to points to the word “deliberate”, “on purpose”, or “intentional”. The word deliberate is defined as, “to do something consciously or intentionally.”  The thing that stirs deep within my heart is most obviously, what does that mean to us in our walk of faith. Ask yourselves… “Is my faith deliberate? Do I seek the Lord purposefully, consciously every single morning when I open my eyes? Am I intentional about my walk with God? Is my presentation of Christlikeness in the earth a conscious normal effort in my day? Am I deliberate about knowing Him? (Ephesians 3:19) In Matthew chapter 11 verse 12 Jesus is speaking … Continue Reading

To KNOW HIM

Howdy everyone….Spring is on the way!! So excited!!

So I am compelled to speak to the parents and grandparents today concerning the “fruit” of their lives. Remember, when we defer to the Bible as our source of truth…. well, then what God says is what God means!! So let’s look at what God says! The scripture reference of course in Galatians 5:22 reminds us what that fruit should look like!! With that in mind, let’s chat a little about this.

When I first started homeschooling my three daughters back in 2002, My main intent (God’s main intent) was that our children would truly come to know Jesus personally themselves! Not just speak it, but actually LIVE IT!! It was my passion for my family to KNOW Jesus and pour into this world! As a family we actually wanted to resemble and characterize the Christianity that the Bible teaches … Continue Reading

Mature Compassion

Howdy ya’ll….I’m feeling like spring should be here….can I get a huge AMEN?

Just a little nugget thats been stirrin’ around in me that I’d like us to be mindful of as children and believers of the Most High God!

Ephesians 4:11-12, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, FOR THE EQUIPPING OF THE SAINTS FOR THE WORK OF THE MINISTRY, for the edifying of the body of Christ…”

As a Pastor I am directed and compelled as my job description to be the conduit for the “equipping of the saints”. Meaning the revelation knowledge of Jesus Christ and His word and the passing along of that knowledge rests upon those that assume those ministry positions. With that understood, there is a nugget of importance that I feel compelled to express and is so very important for the body of … Continue Reading
