Howdy Gang….

So I love reading….and I am always reading horse “stuff”, anything to do with horses. My favorite magazine I get is Holistic Horse (Yes, I’m one of those do it natural people)!!! And pretty much everything I read always becomes a teaching for me. More recently I read this article that I found fascinating and I’d like to share a little nugget with you.

Did you know that our brain is like a radio receiver AND a TRANSMITTER? Howdy Gang…..

I wanted to take a moment to follow up from our last Blog. It’s funny how God continues to just help us keep things in perspective. What I mean by that is as I still ponder about Jesus being the “Light” of the world and how He has placed that light on the inside of us through His Holy Spirit, to shine …. I continue to see this picture in my mind…..

While I was growing up we had a cabin up north in Wisconsin. It was my SAFE place, my peaceful place, MY favorite place,  HOME to me!! This one’s a little lengthy but please just stick with me guys!!!

So I wanted to share a little something with ya’ll that’s been on my mind. It is a subject that birthed our outreach ministry about 16 years ago. And it’s a subject that burns deep within my soul! Jesus Christ Crucified!!!!  Not Jesus and all the benefits I have in Him!!

There is a song by Fernando Ortega I used to listen to all the time way back that my dad introduced to me to,  “Give me Jesus”.  SIMPLE, But it reaches a depth in my soul I can’t explain! Here’s a question we should ask ourselves on a regular basis.

Do I love God? Am I really grateful and devoted to Him?  Ask yourself that question and really let it sink in deep before answering it. How do I show my love and commitment for God my Father, my Savior, my Redeemer?

We express our love and gratitude through our devotion to Him! Our TRUE COMMITMENT to God our Father is reflected in our DAILY OBEDIENCE, DEEP HUMILITY, and A CONTINUOUS  SERVANTS HEART!  WHEW …. in a brief moment of self-reflection …. I truly can’t say I live in that place of constant DEVOTION to my Savior!  Now, as you reflect don’t get all down in the dumps if you’re in the same boat! The Bible teaches us to “work out our salvation”, and that we go “from Glory to Glory”. Meaning we’re forever growing!!!

Howdy Gang…..I just want to share something thats been stirring in my heart lately….

So there has been this excitement and anticipation in my spirit lately!! Can’t really explain it, its been there before. It was there when I began to assist Pastor Kelly Lynnes in ministry many years ago, it was there when a couple of us gals started ministry for families and children, it was there when we started our Outreach ministry (about 16 years ago), and it was there when I spent time in pulpit ministry with Pastor Thelma…I sense transition! I sense a change coming! The words that echo in my spirit from God my Father is, “Have you ever pondered the mystery of WHAT A DAY can bring when I am in it? You’re Invited!!

Yes. You are cordially invited to my Retirement Party!!  Yep! I’m retiring…..I’m done, I’m finished, I’m through…..yessssss! Finally!!!

I’m retiring myself….. FROM MYSELF!!

Do you ever just get to the point where you’re SO done with yourself?? Done with the place you find yourself in,  done with your decisions you’ve made?? Just DONE!!! I joke around all the time about ME “being the boss of me” ….and I have to ask myself, how’s that workin’ for ya Sheryl??  Ya see, sometimes …I mean in some cases a lot of the times, we get going, we get running, we get doing, and we end up hitting the wall in exasperation and wonder why we are frustrated. Why we are exhausted, why we are seriously lacking in the fruit of the Spirit??

Luke 10:17-19

“When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!” “Yes, he told them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning!” Look, I have given you authority over ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY, AND YOU CAN WALK AMONG SNAKES AND SCORPIONS AND CRUSH THEM. NOTHING WILL INJURE YOU. ”

Lets take a look at what God is trying to show us here. The word “obey” in verse 17 is taken from the word “subject to” (hupotasso in the Greek). It actually is referencing a military term meaning “to arrange under”. This paints a picture of a group of soldiers SNAPPING TO ATTENTION and FOLLOWING PRECISELY THE ORDERS OF THEIR COMMANDING OFFICER.  It reminds me of a road trip into South Dakota we took more recently. Ya know that song….well, pretty much everybody does, “Amazing Grace”? Well, that’s just been rolling around in my spirit for weeks! I sing it all the time, I hear it all the time, but there’s something that stops me every time that I’d like to share with you.

So, the chorus goes like this….”Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see.”  As I listen to that song and sing along, I find something that stirs in me every time that the word saved is sung. When I sing it, I actually sing it as, “that saves a wretch like me”.  The reason I sing it that way is because It reminds me of that scriptures that says, “His mercy endures forever”/”His mercy is new every morning”! (Psalm 100:5) How beautiful is that?… Continue Reading

What motivates you to prayer? Need? Uncertainty? Calamity? Fear? Thankfulness? Have you ever stopped and pondered actually when you do go to God and why you do?  Did you know we are to go to God our Father for EVERYTHING? All needs, all concerns, all wisdom….everything!! That very familiar scripture in the book of Philippians 4:6, “Don’t worry about ANYTHING; INSTEAD, pray about EVERYTHING. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He HAS done. THEN you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus!”  We are to pray about everything! I literally take that to the bank guys! I pray even about what some would consider silly things! I talk to my Father as if  He were physically with me.  I trust Him to take care of all things for me! … Continue Reading

So often we think of discipline and self-control as our enemies! Typically they represent to most, a hard, strenuous, frustrating road! One most likely we will fail at more often than not! But I’ve been parked on this subject for some time now…usually that’s the first clue God is trying to teach you something! 🙃

Sometimes I tend to be a little slower in some areas of growth than I’d like to be!! Ugh!! But, there are some things that I think are incredibly valuable in our walk with God and I’d like to share that with you today. So I pray this helps in some area of your life as it has in some for me!
