The “STOPS” of the Lord

Just a note of encouragement …….

Psalm 37:23 “the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and He delights in his way”. This verse is a rah-rah verse! We grab hold of it and speak it out loud and by faith expect to see God come through. We, for some reason think, “Well, I’m saved by the Grace of God and now I will skip right along into my destiny!! I picture kind of like the yellow brick road in the Wizard of Oz! “Just follow the yellow brick road” (just follow the Holy Spirit). But here’s a thought you might want to ponder…..God DOES order our steps as we have made Him our Lord and Savior. He indeed leads us down our own individual paths for our distinct callings…..but God not only orders our steps ….. He lovingly orders our STOPS as well!! Along our journey … Continue Reading

Righteousness – Peace – Joy

Howdy everyone! I am super stirred up about teaching you something that I wish I had been taught the moment I made Jesus my Lord and Savior! It is KEY and absolutely VITAL in our relationship with our Father and to living in the place God has called us to. It MUST be at the very foundation of our relationship with God in order to understand everything else. Let’s start with the scripture …..

Romans 14:17, “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” Notice the three words in bold…..righteousness, peace and joy. Notice the sequence of it as well. Righteousness is first. It has to be at the very foundation of our relationship with God or we end up wondering around, stumbling over all of our areas we lack in or fail in. I don’t … Continue Reading

First Responders

First responders… We’ve heard those words repeatedly these past few months. Thank God for our first responders! We would be lost without each of them!!! Huge huge thank you to you all!! Let’s ask ourselves …..what do the first responders do? What does that really mean? Well, a “first responder” refers to those individuals who, in the early stages of an incident/crisis are responsible for the protection and preservation of life. They are out on the front line, taking risks that others don’t. For them, there must be a complete dedication, an understanding of the situation, and experience and knowledge to help in these times. They are, what we could call our “special ops” soldiers in situations and seasons like this. How do we recognize them? How do we know they are first responders?? What sets them apart from the crowd? Well, one obvious thing is they wear … Continue Reading

A Shift

Howdy Gang! Hope you all are remaining peaceful and joyful during this time of separation. Us girls from Rise Up women’s ministry will continue to pray and expect to see God in all the quagmire and chaos!! HE IS PRESENT!!

I often get the question, “How do I know I’m hearing God”? Or “What if I think it’s God and it isn’t”? Or “What if I make a mistake”? Let me assure you every christian has asked those questions! First, let me say this, I always tell my girls (my own daughters and those I’m ministering to) that “God is not trying to trick us, or stump us, or complicate our relationship with Him!” He is a big God and He is always speaking but sometimes we get lost in the frenzy of “needing an answer” and we find ourselves “trying” to decipher what God wants us to do. He’s … Continue Reading

Authority

I want to give you a definition to hold onto as we unfold a very powerful truth from the Word of God!

The word is AUTHORITY. It is best defined as – the POWER or RIGHT to give orders. A person or organization having POWER or CONTROL in a particular sphere.  We often think of police officers, fire chiefs, government officials, judges, as having full power and authority in their given spheres.  Bringing that home into our own world… What does that mean? Well, generally speaking it means that that person is in charge! That person calls the shots in their “sphere” of influence… regardless of how anybody else feels about it! Now, let’s go to the word of God and see what God says about the word authority. First, let’s just set the foundation. We know that there are angels all around us, the Bible teaches us that. With that … Continue Reading

Conversion of the Heart

It’s funny, have you ever noticed that the “experts” can really complicate things? They just seem to have this special talent of making things so much harder than they really ought to be! Take for instance, Moses……He came down off Mount Sinai after meeting with God and brought with him the 10 commandments. Now, fast forward, by the time of Jesus’s earthly ministry the 10 commandments had evolved into 613 laws! Now, that’s complicating things!! Holy Smokes!! And I might add….these were laws in place for every day life! YIKES!!!! Ya, I would have never made it off my knees if Jesus hadn’t simplified things!!

Let’s try to understand what simple in the realm of our faith really is. Jesus’s life and teachings were a representation of God’s priorities. He simply wanted to help us understand and line up our priorities with His! Notice in all the parables, … Continue Reading

Wilderness Times

Interestingly, with all that is going on in our world today with this “Covid19” and the “social distancing” and “isolation” that is taking place….I’ve at the same time been studying on what the Bible calls “the wilderness”. The wilderness is best described in the Hebrew as an isolated, solitary place, desert, barren, confined, confused, empty place. Doesn’t sound like a very inviting or enticing place does it? I think at this time in our country, and really all over the world, people are probably feeling like they’ve just entered the “wilderness times”. People are having a hard time with being isolated and confined and certainly there is an immense amount of confusion surrounding this pandemic.

While it is certainly a very desperate situation we are living in right now, let me give you a little encouragement from our one and only source of TRUTH – GOD’S WORD. If you take … Continue Reading

Protect the Family

I don’t know about you, but I was raised that “you take care of and protect your family”. It was non-negotiable!!! That is something my dad drilled into us kids while we were growing up! And that’s what we did!!! We were fiercely protective of one another ….”ain’t no one gonna mess with my family”! For me, I’ve carried that quality into raising my children (WHO ARE ALSO EXTREMELY FIERCE ABOUT PROTECTING THEIR FAMILY) and into my walk with God! What do I mean by “protecting the family”? I mean….as followers of Jesus Christ and children of the Most High God, I am fiercely protective of our family of Christ and of all Gods children!! We all should be!! I will fight for both my christian brothers and sisters in Christ as well as for the souls of ALL GOD’S KIDS!!!

Here’s a little background on me. My dad is … Continue Reading

Confident Positioning

Howdy guys…. So I was on a little bit of a rant this last blog …. I apologize if I offended anyone. On a lighter note, here’s a little nugget of encouragement and truth for us to hang our hats on……

Navigating in the hard times of life can be difficult to say the least. In Acts 27, the scriptures tell us that the Apostle Paul is taken into custody as a prisoner of the Imperial Regiment. He is boarded on a ship for Italy. They start off in calm, quiet waters and suddenly, “the weather changed abruptly, and a wind of typhoon strength burst across the island and blew us out to sea.” Ever feel like life broad-sided you? Like a typhoon wind came out of no where and knocked you to the ground? We talk often about the storms of life and the challenges we face as … Continue Reading

37 Minutes

Howdy Everyone…. hope everyone is doing well and is safe at home! Just thought I’d speak my mind this morning…

With all this chaos that the Coronavirus/media has brought into our lives …..It leaves me SOOOOOO stirred up! So many things that make me stop and just say… “Wait, what?”. Things like this… Have you seen the commercial that states that the average family has 37 minutes together in a day. Yeah 37 minutes!!! How, in sweet Jesus name are we supposed to produce children of character in 37 minutes??? That in and of itself is a very very sad statement!!! OPEN YOUR EYES AMERICA!!! There is an enormous amount of frustration that the media brings concerning the virus and people having to remain at home. Ugh! I have watched parent after parent after parent calling in asking some of the dumbest questions I’ve ever heard!! I’m sorry if … Continue Reading
