Steal Kill Destroy

Hey everyone… Hope you all are having a wonderful summer!! We have been busily working on our daughters wedding as it is quickly approaching at the end of August! We are so excited! Got a little nugget for you that I would like to share today…..

The Bible teaches us in John 10:10 “The thief comes ONLY to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Much of the time we Christians breeze through this scripture rather fast and always see the latter part of it which is good and right, but let’s focus on the first part of the scripture. The first part talks about how the enemy of our soul, yes the devil, comes ONLY … Notice the word “only”. It is Satan’s One and only job and sole purpose to steal from you, kill you and your loved ones, and destroy you, your friends, and your families lives. That is his ONE main goal! Why is this his goal?? Well, think about how many people ask questions like “why God allows certain things”, “why do bad things happen to good people”. Just as in strategizing in the military, Satan strategizes to undermine the faithfulness, the love, and the presence of God in our lives. He wants us to question God’s loyalty to us!!! He wants us to question Gods love and devotion toward us! What do we do with that? How do we manage this in our lives? The Bible teaches us also that we’ve been given the “Armor of God” and I think sometimes we forget our armor. Sometimes we get sleepy, complacent, and just down right lazy and forget that the very thing that will protect us and keep us other than the souvourn grace of God, is the very words of our Lord and the sword of the spirit. Now, instead of focusing on the fact that Satan is “out to get us”, we ought to intentionally focus on the loyalty, the love, and faithfulness our God has proven to us already in our lives. So, actively go find scriptures in the word that teach you about God’s faithfulness! Actively go find scriptures in the word that describe how He protects us and keeps us! Actively go find in the Scriptures on how much He loves us and is consistently always there for us!As satan strategizes to make a mess of our lives, we can be strengthening ourselves in the Lord and in His holy word to make a better future for ourselves and our loved ones! Remember his ONLY strategy is to get your eyes off our Savior and onto the distractions, the hardships, and failures in our lives so he can steal, kill and destroy. “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a WISE man who built his house on the rock!” Matthew 7:24  Let’s be WISE children of God!!!
