Pieces
Matthew 25:40, “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'”
Most of us have read this many times before. But today I want to challenge you to stop and really evaluate this scripture as it truly reflects in your own life. Pause a moment and look around at your life and surroundings. Your home life, your job, your church life, your friends, your neighbors…..in each of these circles THERE IS SOMETHING a willing, compassionate heart can and should contribute to! The Lord has called us to be a piece of the bigger picture or plan He has for this world. He calls us, His followers, to be more fully open to HIM, HIS PLAN, HIS DESIGN for each of our daily circles. His desire is that our hearts be fully open to what He would have us do each day with each person in our circles. He’s placed you there!! Right where you are!! No act of service or kindness is too small!! A kind word, an encouraging word, a helpful hand, a comforting hug or smile, a quick text reminding another they are loved. Remember in Matthew 25, we are told that when we do these things, even the smallest of things, we are doing it to HIM. You see, just as a boat leaves a wake behind as it moves forward….we to, leave a wake!! There is a ripple affect….whether good or bad I might add, where EVERYTHING we do creates an impact somewhere to someone!! Just as we do not see where that ripple ends, much of the time we do not even know, nor do we understand the depth or the extent of our piece we added out of a compassionate and a caring heart. It should be our privilege, our joy, and our call to extend the love and compassion of our Lord Jesus in tangible, practical ways everyday in every way we can in our circles!! YOUR piece matters and IS a part of the Masterful plan God has in this earth!! So, again, I challenge you….pause…. look around….what piece can you contribute today??
