SPRINGTIME
Hope everyone has weathered (no pun intended) the frozen tundra well these last handful of weeks! Brrrr a little chilly in Minnesota, but even chillier in Belt, Montana where I visited my wonderful friends at BIG SHOE RANCH (-25 was about the average). But, smile and get ready…. it looks like spring is rounding the corner! Oh thank you Jesus!!
With spring on the way it should always remind us of a new season approaching, a new beginning, an opportunity to do some things that we normally can’t because of circumstances (like our cold winters). When we come into a “new season” we can take a look back and perhaps see the long tough haul it might have been. Maybe you’ve felt trapped, unable to pursue things you love. Maybe you’ve felt stalled, sitting like Jonah was in the belly of the whale. Maybe you simply have felt frozen in time with little to no growth in your walk with God. Well, remember…. coming out of the old season, into the new… things will start to thaw…. melt away….. things that have been covered for a very long time begin to be uncovered, and revealed! I believe it’s a season of revealing!! Of uncovering some things. A revealing of callings and passions!! An uncovering of talents and convictions!!! A season of flourishing! After this long, almost hibernating season, I believe God is melting away the old (Old ways, old habits, old directions) and new growth is beginning to spring up! Just like the thawing of the ground in the spring and the melting away of the hard dense ground, God has been able to work on us, work on our hearts, work in our lives all the while things seemed…..stalled……paused….even dark. The ground of our heart softens, melts, and is moldable and the sun (Son-Jesus) shines down to bring back life …. new life….to the covered life that remains unseen (as of yet). Ya see guys, as we have spent seasons with our Father where perhaps it didn’t seem like ANYTHING at all was happening or going on….. a new season comes and from out of no where…. a brand new life has sprung! A new growth, a new blossom, a new opportunity for us to bloom into all God has for us! So if it has seemed like a long haul….. hang in there ……smile, knowing He’s at work! This new season God has for you is rounding the corner and a new unexpected season is about to begin! Listen, Pay attention, God is in this new place!! I hear the tapping of the thaw….. Selah!
