Decision Time
Howdy Everyone! I pray you all are staying healthy and safe during this unsettled time going into our election of 2020!
I usually like to paint a picture when I teach so I am going to share a picture I’ve been seeing in my heart for some time now. While I was growing up I had a friend that lived just down the street from me and one of our favorite things to do was to climb up onto this wood fence that ran along our road and see who could walk the farthest without falling off. Now, she usually won because she was an amazing gymnast but we both would always get up there and because we regularly played this game we both learned to make it the whole length of the fence line! As I reflect on that fence….walking, balancing with our hands stretched out, we’d always come to the end of that fence and have to jump off. This is how I see many Christians right now….. “on the fence”. Our last Rise Up women’s meeting was focused around the Laodicean Church (Revelations 3) and the Pergamos Church (Revelation 2). The Laodicean Church was known as the “luke warm” church and the Pergamos Church was known as the “compromising Church”….both, who God was very displeased with!! Remember ….. this is the CHURCH God is talking to not unbelievers!
With the election 2020 quickly approaching I’d like to challenge all the believers out there to take a long look at your own true heart. In this election, there is a CLEAR divide on the platforms that are presented before us! NOT THE MAN…..THE PLATFORMS!! Remember, God uses whom HE chooses. Take Moses, he was a very old, unpolished man leading the millions of Israelites across the Red Sea to go into the promised land. Now, most of us would have looked for a more “suitable” leader. Ya know, stronger, younger, maybe better looking. But clearly we are not God. “His ways are Higher than our ways”. God chose Moses.
Take David, a scrawny, little red headed 13 year old boy was God’s choice to take down Goliath and the Philistine army. Now, you and I both know if we were calling the shots on that one we would have NEVER chosen David. We would have looked for one of the strongest, most decorated, aggressive leaders we could find to take down Goliath. God chose David.
This is NOT about a MAN (man is fallible and imperfect)! This is about what each platform represents. When we look at the platforms that each party stands for ONE CLEARLY STANDS FOR GODLY VALUES ACCORDING THE BIBLE AND HOW GOD EXPECTS HIS CHILDREN TO LIVE “one nation UNDER GOD”. And the other platform has REMOVED all form of godliness including God Himself from the very foundation of this nation! So, with that said….yes, I’m going to say it….GET OFF THE FENCE CHILDREN OF GOD! You either get off on God’s side of the fence or you get off on the other. YOU CAN’T stay on the fence….because eventually, at some point, you will come to the end of that “fence riding” and you will have to make a choice…..am I FOR GOD AND HIS PRINCIPLES or am I not??
So, yes I’m going to say this to….YOU CANNOT CALL YOURSELF A CHRISTIAN AND VOTE FOR A GODLESS PLATFORM!!!!!! YOU JUST CAN’T!!
COME ON CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD……LET’S RISE UP TOGETHER!!!!
Romans 12:2 “Do NOT BE CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD any longer with its SUPERFICIAL VALUES and CUSTOMS, but be transformed and progressively changed as you mature spiritually by the renewing of your mind (focusing on the GODLY VALUES and ETHICAL ATTITUDES) so that you may prove for yourselves what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect in His plan and purpose for you.”
I think this scripture sums it up pretty good…..”focusing on the Godly values and ethical attitude”!!!
