First Responders
First responders… We’ve heard those words repeatedly these past few months. Thank God for our first responders! We would be lost without each of them!!! Huge huge thank you to you all!! Let’s ask ourselves …..what do the first responders do? What does that really mean? Well, a “first responder” refers to those individuals who, in the early stages of an incident/crisis are responsible for the protection and preservation of life. They are out on the front line, taking risks that others don’t. For them, there must be a complete dedication, an understanding of the situation, and experience and knowledge to help in these times. They are, what we could call our “special ops” soldiers in situations and seasons like this. How do we recognize them? How do we know they are first responders?? What sets them apart from the crowd? Well, one obvious thing is they wear uniforms that define who they are and from what department they are from right? For example, police officers have their specific police uniforms. Paramedics and firemen have their specific uniforms. When we see a uniformed person representing a first responder we sense hope and faith to help in the desperate situation. So, let me ask you this… Do you have your first responder uniform on? Do people recognize hope and faith in you when you encounter desperate times and situations? Are you promptly aware of grave situations and are ready to meet needs? Always remember……there are endless ways we can meet needs….prayer, community outreach, on-scene physical help, etc. There are endless and creative ways for us to “first respond” ….. we just have to intentionally do it!! Are you alert and attentive to your surroundings so as to help in any situation at any time??? You see guys, we are Gods First Responders here in the earth! People have desperate situations every single day of their lives, not just during this coronavirus time, nor during this horrible loss of George Floyd, stoked by hatred! Every single day is a new opportunity for us to put on our uniform, go out into the world, as front line soldiers and bring hope, faith, and comfort!! Especially in times like this!! Take time to read and memorize Matthew 6:32-33. God will take care of us and our families…..so let us be the ones that respond as our Father would have us! Pray that God shows YOU (everyone’s part is different) what you can do to be a first responder on behalf of HIM!!!! Let’s get our thoughts and focus (and actions!!) out into a desperate, decaying world. We are in the ranks of the army of God… Do you have your uniform on??
I love this, we should all think of ourselves in this way.
