Protect the Family

I don’t know about you, but I was raised that “you take care of and protect your family”. It was non-negotiable!!! That is something my dad drilled into us kids while we were growing up! And that’s what we did!!! We were fiercely protective of one another ….”ain’t no one gonna mess with my family”! For me, I’ve carried that quality into raising my children (WHO ARE ALSO EXTREMELY FIERCE ABOUT PROTECTING THEIR FAMILY) and into my walk with God! What do I mean by “protecting the family”? I mean….as followers of Jesus Christ and children of the Most High God, I am fiercely protective of our family of Christ and of all Gods children!! We all should be!! I will fight for both my christian brothers and sisters in Christ as well as for the souls of ALL GOD’S KIDS!!!

Here’s a little background on me. My dad is FULL BLOODED IRISH (hot tempered- red hot), and my mother is FULL BLOODED ITALIAN (hot Attitude with a capital “A”)….need I say anymore? My mother’s famous line has always been, “When we fight, we sell tickets!” It definitely could clear a room! My very mild mannered, quietly reserved husband could never figure out how we could FIGHT SO HARD in one moment, and LOVE SO HARD IN THE NEXT. (My sweet Cuban friend Zoila completely understands this!!!) It was very perplexing to him! But I believe there is some helpful pieces in that. Ya see, as believers, we are to “LOVE ONE ANOTHER as Christ has loved the Church”! Christ FIERCELY LOVED us so much …… that He gave His life for us!! That’s fierce love!!

Here’s something to think on today ….with this Coronavirus and all its ugly aspects….let’s stand up as the FAMILY OF GOD and fight fiercely!! Let’s take care of our family of God and let’s fight for one another!!! Let’s pray, let’s help, let’s be there for one another!! Let’s get our swords (the word of God) out and LOVE EACH OTHER FIERCELY by whatever means the Holy Spirit shows us!!! Let’s take it into the neighborhoods where many don’t even know the LOVE and PEACE of our Heavenly Father!! Let’s GIVE AS JESUS DID….LET’S BE CHRIST RIGHT NOW TO ALL MEN/FAMILIES!!! LET’S FIGHT FIERCELY FOR GOD’S KIDS AND LOVE HARD!!!

Remember…..”WE ARE CHRIST’S AMBASSADORS, GOD IS MAKING HIS APPEAL THROUGH US. WE SPEAK FOR CHRIST WHEN WE PLEAD, “COME BACK TO GOD!” (2 Corinthians 5:20) Let’s fight for one another and at the same time fiercely love God’s kids right back to HIM where they belong!
