37 Minutes
Howdy Everyone…. hope everyone is doing well and is safe at home! Just thought I’d speak my mind this morning…
With all this chaos that the Coronavirus/media has brought into our lives …..It leaves me SOOOOOO stirred up! So many things that make me stop and just say… “Wait, what?”. Things like this… Have you seen the commercial that states that the average family has 37 minutes together in a day. Yeah 37 minutes!!! How, in sweet Jesus name are we supposed to produce children of character in 37 minutes??? That in and of itself is a very very sad statement!!! OPEN YOUR EYES AMERICA!!! There is an enormous amount of frustration that the media brings concerning the virus and people having to remain at home. Ugh! I have watched parent after parent after parent calling in asking some of the dumbest questions I’ve ever heard!! I’m sorry if this is offensive to some of you but someone’s got to say it !!!!! Callers asking how to deal with having everybody under one roof, how to deal with having their children home from school, what are they going to do, how do they deal with their children, psychologist weighing in at the hardship of all this…hardship because their isolation?? Really? Are you kidding me???? HOW ABOUT PARENT YOUR CHILDREN!! There’s an idea!! That’s the state we’re in right now? Leaves me absolutely dumbfounded that our society has no idea what the American dream has done to families!!!! I literally broke down and cried when I saw the commercial of the average American family spending 37 minutes together. That is absolutely devastating to me and NOT AT ALL how God created us to be as a family! What has happened? The busyness of life has devastated the family circle! In times like this, when Godly character has been built into our children’s foundation our questions SHOULD BE ….where can I help? What can I do for my community, what can I do for my family, what can I do for my friends, how can I help in my circle of influence?? THAT’S HOW OUR CHILDREN LEARN TO DO GOD’S WORK! WE SHOW THEM! WE LIVE IT! Rather than “ How do we get through this“, what am I supposed to do with my kids? ( like seriously? Someone really had to ask that? Like seriously a parent had to ask that????)
To my fellow Christians… Now is the time to be the light! Remember … we are to “train our children up in the admonition of the Lord!” Remember Deuteronomy 6 teaches us that we are supposed to create a lifestyle of Godly character in our children so in times like this ….. WE RADIATE CHRIST! Guys, let’s be the example, let’s be there for our neighbors, our family, SHOW OUR CHILDREN HOW JESUS CHRIST REACHES OUT TO OTHERS WHO ACTUALLY ARE DEALING WITH REAL HARDSHIPS….. Let’s show our children that as we take care of others …..God our Father will take care of us!!
Huge thank you to Pastor Mike Kaelber and his beautiful wife Ashley (Grace North Church) who have taken the bull by the horns in the community and immediately started a daily devotional podcast to encourage the community….posting encouragement, the word of God, videos of their time together as a family, growing their children up in the things of God!
