TROUBLED WATERS

Howdy Gang…..I Just have a little nugget of encouragement to share with you all…..

Mark 6:45-52 is the chapter about Jesus walking on the water. This is a great passage to remind us that our Lord and Savior is always present and working on our behalf. (Side Note: Interestingly, this follows the great miracle of the feeding of the 5000 men and their families. Showing us that even as disciples walking physically everyday with the Lord, they had growing to do!) Jumping ahead, Jesus departs up into the hills to pray while the disciples take the boat to cross the lake to Gennesaret. The scripture continues and tells us that Jesus SAW the disciples struggling in a BIG STORM. It goes on to tell us that Jesus, clearly moved by their struggle, came walking on the water toward them. The bible tells us they were terrified. It also tells us that it was 3:00 am- in the middle of the night (the darkest part of the night). He tells them, “Don’t be afraid! Take courage! I AM HERE!” AND HE CLIMBED INTO THE BOAT WITH THEM AND THE WIND STOPPED!”

Here’s the nugget guys……In our greatest struggles, darkest hours, our scariest moments….He SEES our struggles, He is moved with love and compassion on our behalf and CLIMBS INTO THE MESS WITH US!! He tells us to not be afraid because He’s got us! The scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:27, “For HE (the Father) has put ALL THINGS in subjection UNDER HIS (Christ’s) feet.” So as Jesus sees us, sees our struggles, He moves in our direction “stepping on our circumstances” crushing the storms under HIS unmatchable power, and STILLS THE STORMS IN OUR LIVES!! That is WHO OUR LOVING, ALL POWERFUL FATHER IS!!! So please, KNOW…… He sees you, He hears you….He loves you and HE’S IN THE BOAT….TRUST HIM TO CALM THE WATERS!!!
