Noble? What does that mean??
Howdy everyone
Blessings to all of you!!!!
So I have been having quite the time studying all about the different people in the Bible that God has used. Quite extraordinary! The examples, their stories, and their life (not moment) journeys they have traveled….amazing!! My my my we have plenty of room to grow as we learn how God has taken and shaped each for His plans and purposes in the earth for His children….No, life is NOT just about you!! (I am smiling right now…. I need emojis, gif’s or something I think! Haha!)
In Proverbs 31…..many of you know this passage …. starting in verse 10 the word frames a distinct picture of what a “Noble” woman should look like. But let’s broaden the picture a moment and take a look at the picture from a different angle. Though it speaks of a noble woman ….. I believe it sets a picture of what a “noble child of God ” should look like. Verse 10 begins with, ”who can find a VIRTUOUS AND CAPABLE wife?” Let’s back track a sec and rephrase this….. “who can find a VIRTUOUS AND CAPABLE person?” The word “virtuous” is defined as having high moral standards. The word “capable” is defined as having the ability, QUALITY, necessary to achieve something. So putting this together, we can ask ourselves…… “Do I display, radiate, demonstrate high moral standards?” Do I maintain the “quality and ability” necessary for God to use me? Now, before we go any further… this is NOT INFERRING we have to hit this mark of perfection …. or even close to perfection! What the passage continues unfolding (it’s a process guys!!) is a describing of a person forged with character and integrity. It continues and speaks of being an energetic, strong, hard worker. All simultaneously extending themselves to the poor, needy, downtrodden. Ask yourself is this a reflection of my life? When others think of me, do they see strong moral values, a silent but strong integrity, a person that always just does the “right thing”? Do they see Christ like behavior? Do they see someone that is actively “available”? Do they see a gentle, calm, unassuming but strong spirit? In Verse 22 it continues, “……she dresses in fine linen and purple gowns”. The color purple in the Bible is representative of “royalty”…… this is a perfect picture of someone who KNOWS WHO’S CHILD THEY ARE! Remember……YOU ARE A CHILD OF THE KING….THE ONE AND ONLY KING!!! As the passage goes on it speaks of a person that “carefully watches” everything in the household not suffering from any kind of laziness (people … I am not even gonna go there with this)! Now that’s a parent/grandparent on the ball!!
So with that in mind…..Let me share, I had more recently found myself with an aqaintance that radiates this!! Her entire being radiates JESUS. Her smile, standards, morals, conversation, and everything about her screamed JESUS!! Wherever she goes she leaves a mark of compassionate love and kindness…….I don’t know about you….but I want to be that! I want to grow into this amazing standard that represents God our Father in the very ordinary daily life I live!! She inspires me!!
Here’s the nugget guys….. in this passage it describes a specific person! A person that KNOWS AND REPRESENTS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR! It describes a virtuous life that radiates….. quality, beauty, elegance of character!! Mind you it DOES NOT SAY PURFECT!!!
Let this be our goal as well! Let’s not just be labeled as a “Christian” …… let’s TRULY RADIATE A STANDARD THAT OTHERS NOTICE!!!
Blessings Always!!!
