Fully Convinced

How often will a child, FULLY CONVINCED of his or her Father’s greatness say, “My daddy can do anything”! How true that is!! As a child you feel NO ONE and NOTHING is bigger, badder, and more powerful than my dad!! How true that is with our Heavenly Father as well! As our growth of WHO HE IS TO US increases, our growth in our AWARENESS of His GREATNESS explodes!!!  THERE’S A CONFIDENCE BIRTHED!!

I am currently sitting at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. My husband, Rich had a successful laminectomy surgery this morning. When they roled  him away to the operating room ….instead of sitting in a VERY packed, noisy waiting room for a 4 1/2 hour process… I went roaming. I found myself heading down a hall and began to see signs for the “chapel”…… I needed some quiet and thought that is the spot! Now the chapels I’m used to in hospitals are usually these tiny, very boring, handful of chairs kind of chapels. Not this one!!! It was this big beautiful, ornate, masterpiece! And no one was in there!!! Just me and Jesus! I went all the way to the front (of course I did) and put my headphones on and began to worship! Immediately I was overwhelmed with the love and peace of my Father!!  He joined me “while I waited”! I have no words that can even come close to describing His tangible presence!! David in Psalm 34 I guess does a pretty good job expressing the joy in his heart towards His God, “I will bless the Lord AT ALL TIMES; His praise shall CONTINUALLY be in my mouth. My SOUL shall make its boasts in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.”  David likens himself in Psalm 131 as a “little child” who’s DADDY CAN DO ANYTHING!! There’s this place you come to in your relationship with God that you have FULL CONFIDENCE IN HIM!!! BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOUR DAD! HE’S THE BIGGEST, BADDEST GUY AROUND!!! HE CAN FIX EVERYTHING, REMOVE ANYTHING , BE ANYTHING WE NEED HIM TO BE!!!! HE IS OUR FATHER! GOD OF EVERYTHING!!! And in this place there is this child like freedom to worship with out restraint! It’s like that song Reckless, “The overwhelming, never ending, RECKLESS LOVE of God! Chases you down, fights til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine!” That’s our FATHER….that’s my Dad!!!!

Understand, childlikeness in our worship and approach to God is the beginning of wisdom. Putting ourselves in our rightful place ….. with HIM IN THE LEAD!! When we trust our Father entirely… there’s heavenly freedom ….a confident KNOWING! I find myself boasting about Him like verse 3 says, “Oh magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together!”

The INDESCRIBABLE FREEDOM of CONFIDENCE IN THE CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH!!! SELAH!
