Howdy Gang….

So I love reading….and I am always reading horse “stuff”, anything to do with horses. My favorite magazine I get is Holistic Horse (Yes, I’m one of those do it natural people)!!! And pretty much everything I read always becomes a teaching for me. More recently I read this article that I found fascinating and I’d like to share a little nugget with you.

Did you know that our brain is like a radio receiver AND a TRANSMITTER? Now, I’m guessing ya’ll would have said yes to the “receiver” part, but maybe not so many of you would have said yes to the transmitter part. I found it fascinating that research has found that our brains have an energy field range of about 10 feet from our physical bodies. We receive and send what’s called a “vibratory energy frequency” (VEF). The super cool thing…..well, you can determine whether its super cool or not, is that not only do our brains transmit this frequency, but our biggest organ in our bodies, transmits VEF.

What is our biggest organ you might ask? Well, it’s our skin. Yes, skin is an organ! I’m sure your going, ok, so where is she going with this?? Well, here’s what caught my attention. When I am working with my horses (Thank you Father for my sweet horses) WHATEVER and WHEREVER I am in my head permeates from my very being (my skin)…..THAT is what is TRANSMITTING to my horses. They are reading me!! If I bring in stress from the day, anger from the day, exhaustion from the day, if I’m carrying fear about something….guess what, THEY KNOW AND THEY FEEL IT!!!  This is science….. but really, with us it’s God’s way of providing an opportunity for His children  “to let our light shine”.

Ever wonder why horse therapy works so well? I can tell you, as a Mounted Patrol officer, when we do public appearances…. ALL the kids and families want to be by the horses. And I can tell you with complete certainty, our horses KNOW kids are around. They sense children. Especially any children with any kind of handicap or disability.

Why is that?

Their little bodies (with all that skin- thats the transmitter) are transmitting and the horses are reading them. It is amazing to watch my 2000 lb. draft horse gently bow his head and stand patiently UNTIL the child is done petting and talking to him.  It’s as if my Jake knows exactly what is going on in that little child and responds in a loving, gentle manner!! It’s actually incredibly remarkable to watch. Oh, how God has designed us so intricately!!

So with that said, ask yourself this, “What is transmitting off me”? What is the world reading from me? If horses can sense the very heart of us, then what are other people sensing from us? In 2 Corinthians 3:2 Paul is speaking to the Corinthian church, “YOU are our written epistles written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of FLESH…” The NLT version says, “recognized and read by everybody….YOU are LIVING LETTERS written by Christ…”!!!

WE are RECOGNIZED AND READ by all men, every day, in every situation, with all people!!  Like I said, that can be super cool OR not so much!! The Fruit of the Spirit (Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control), the very NATURE of God, should be permeating (transmitting) from our very being!!! Remember, people can sense you from 10 feet away!!  Not that we don’t miss it or fail. I fail all the time….but, I do desire to change from glory to glory! If you’re finding you might not be a well written letter….. well, maybe you should pick up my book “The Fruit of the Spirit” and let God remind you WHAT our letters should look like to the world!! Let’s desire to represent Christ in the earth properly. Listen guys, frankly there’s just too much hypocrisy and lack of love, and sadly, bad examples of God’s love that the world is witnessing.

Let’s TRANSMIT loving, transparent, kind letters!!!
