Are you Committed?
Here’s a question we should ask ourselves on a regular basis.
Do I love God? Am I really grateful and devoted to Him? Ask yourself that question and really let it sink in deep before answering it. How do I show my love and commitment for God my Father, my Savior, my Redeemer?
We express our love and gratitude through our devotion to Him! Our TRUE COMMITMENT to God our Father is reflected in our DAILY OBEDIENCE, DEEP HUMILITY, and A CONTINUOUS SERVANTS HEART! WHEW …. in a brief moment of self-reflection …. I truly can’t say I live in that place of constant DEVOTION to my Savior! Now, as you reflect don’t get all down in the dumps if you’re in the same boat! The Bible teaches us to “work out our salvation”, and that we go “from Glory to Glory”. Meaning we’re forever growing!!!
HPL (Hallelujah Praise the Lord) as my friend would say!
It doesn’t end there for us as failures! Remember we have been made “more than conquerors “! But let’s take a look at what can help us grow!
Lets take a look at 3 things we can learn from David. It’s always easy to visit Davids life because he fumbled around in life just like we do and yet God continued to always use him as HIS man! There’s hope for us folks!!
Now, first, David lived “imperfectly” but don’t miss in studying his life his hearts desire was to always do what the Lord asked. We too live imperfectly as well. We can, at times, make independent decisions from God, show less than “the Fruit of the Spirit” toward others, or just flat be disobedient to the promptings of the Holy Spirit! But David continually strove to obey God’s direction! In our devotion toward God we must decide to obey…. no matter what!!! Number two, he maintained a deep place of humility because HE REMEMBERS WHERE HE’S COME FROM!
David is a man, like the Apostle Paul, that understands GRACE like many don’t! Humility is and should be a key characteristic in a believers life! If you tend to be argumentative, if you always have to be right, or if you are just flat controlling concerning others, than the humility department needs a little work! And number three, ask yourself if you have a servants heart! Am I available at a moments notice or am I only available when it’s convenient for my schedule? Many people miss it here! Notice people around you. Don’t get so overly consumed with your own deal that you miss needs of others!!
So, again, I ask you to search your own heart and gage …..
”Do I really live a life that SHOWS I love God?
Selah!
