He RESTORES my Soul
Howdy Gang! So, I’ve been feeding my spirit like crazy (remember… you are what you eat!) and God has been showing me some amazing things I’d like to share with you!
Ya know how God will give you an understanding concerning something you’ve been either meditating on or just something He’s been showing you? You ever notice how when He is showing you something it is like a thread in everything everywhere?! It’s in the book you read, the message you listen to, the devotion for the day, the teaching from your pastor, the billboard you pass (Oh yes, I said billboard). Many times it is everywhere you look and everywhere you see. Yes, God is trying to tell us something!! That is usually a good time to be paying attention.
With that said, I have been meditating and studying all different angles of Psalm 23:3. “He restores my soul”. Now really stop and think about what that actually means! Let’s remember that our soul is our MIND, WILL, AND EMOTIONS. Do you need some restoration in your mind(what or how you think)? How about your will (your decision maker)? Do you need any restoration (fixing) of some damaged emotions? Let me share with you some things our Father has shown me.
Palm 23:3, “He RESTORES my SOUL”. The word RESTORE is defined as – to return someone or something to a former condition, place, or position. So, here is what God is saying to us…. He “replaces” our mind, will, and emotions with His mind, will, and emotions. He replaces MY MIND with “But we have THE MIND OF CHRIST” (1 Corinthians 2:16). He replaces MY WILL with, “…nevertheless, not my will, but THY WILL, be done” (Luke 22:42). And He replaces MY EMOTIONS with HIS EMOTIONS of Love, compassion, and kindness(1 Corinthians 13). As a child of the King of kings and Lord of lords He restores (replaces) our soul (returns our soul) to the former condition and place that He created in you and me before we were ever born. Before there was any damage or destruction in our souls!! Before we ever made any mistakes, wrong choices, or just apathetically strolled through life in survival mode. If you find yourself needing to be refreshed from this rat race we call life….sit still, be quiet, turn everything off….kids, phone, people and let HIM restore your soul. HE will restore your thinking, which determines your choices, which determines your emotional state …. everyday!
Determine today…..”HE RESTORES MY SOUL”!!
HE WILL REPLACE MY MIND for the MIND OF CHRIST!
HE WILL REPLACE MY WILL for THY WILL BE DONE!
HE WILL REPLACE MY EMOTIONS for HIS LOVE, COMPASSION, AND KINDNESS!
He will! I promise!!
