Navigation for your Destination
Notice these days how everyone lives by their navigation or GPS to direct us to and from our destinations? We either connect to the GPS on our vehicles or we connect on our phones. We want CORRECT and FAST navigation to where we want to go. However, if you are anything like me….SOMETIMES as the annoying voice of navigation is directing me I begin to doubt the direction “she” is telling me! (Side note ….notice it is always a woman’s voice on your Nav? I’m guessing that would be because it is typically a woman’s nature to ASK FOR DIRECTIONS! I know girls you are totally with me on that! 😃). Now, clearly this app is probably more reliable than my own memory or my own instinct, but I start rolling things over, thinking things through, and begin DOUBTING if it is in fact going to get me to where I need to be. After all, don’t I always know where I’m going !? In those moments of contemplating whether I really actually TRUST the navigation, I make the decision to go at it alone, do it myself.
Got any “do it myself” people out there??
Even though the navigation has proven itself TIME AND TIME AGAIN TRUSTWORTHY….this time… I decide it is wrong! I will rely on myself and my judgment on the direction in which I should go… Bad decision!
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, ” Trust in the Lord with all your heart; DO NOT DEPEND ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING. Seek HIS will in all that you do, and HE WILL SHOW YOU which path to take.”
Sounds pretty easy doesn’t it? We are to ask God what direction we are to take for our life, maybe concerning a job, maybe concerning a boyfriend or girlfriend, maybe concerning a call to ministry. Whatever the case may be, God tells us to talk to him about it and look for direction from Him. He is our NAVIGATOR!!! Simple right? Not so much… Or should I say not always.
Now, here’s the problem, if you’re anything like me and if you’re willing to admit it like myself… Sometimes we decide to take matters into our own hands, trusting in our own understanding or in our own ability because we haven’t yet learned how to completely trust! That is a very delicate subject for many of us, for many different reasons! Let me encourage you and let me save you some time and trouble…. follow the NAVIGATORS directions(voice)! If navigation tells you to turn right, turn right! If navigation tells you to to turn left, turn left! If navigation tells you to do a U-turn, do a U-turn! Follow the directions and YOU WILL arrive at your destination… The key word here is you WILL arrive!!!
Verse 7 goes on to say, “Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom…”. Here I believe God is telling us, “Don’t even think that you will make it to your divine destination without my directions!” Follow the Navigators instructions and arrive at your destination at the right place and at the right time!!
