The Bumpy Road

As I have ventured out into a completely distant and foreign land, life has become a test!!! A test of my faith, a test of my trust, a test of my endurance! I began a venture in publishing a children’s book (The fruit of the Spirit) that is to be a teaching tool for both parents and children annnnd the onslaught of “bumps in the road” have graciously tagged along in this intense venture! 🙃
If you haven’t noticed yet… Sometimes life comes crashing in like a tidal wave. It, at times, sends us into a whirling, tumbling onslaught of a thousand questions!!! We find ourselves like a five-year-old who continually asks the question to the parent, “why”. Why do I have to do this, “why” are things like that, how does this work, why why why… Jesus tells us in John 16:33, “I have told you all this so that you may have PEACE IN ME. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” The Scriptures do not tell us that we will not have trials, tribulations, sorrows, or sadness. But we are promised the peace of Jesus in those times!!! Sometimes life can throw you a blow to the gut that may knock the wind out of you for a moment, BUT IN THAT MOMENT…PAUSE…BREATHE… and reach down into the depths of your soul and remember we have to have a RELENTLESS RESOLVE that no matter what the trial, the sorrow, the challenge….IT DOES NOT change the fact that God is God, that He is creator of heaven and earth, that He is Lord of lords and King of kings, He is our shield, He is our shelter, He is our Prince of peace, HE IS OUR FATHER!!!
Now let’s take a look at the definitions of RELENTLESS – it is defined as in a negative form; severe, merciless, persistent, incessant, never ending.
RESOLVE – is defined as settle, hammer out.
So in applying these definitions to our faith in our Father we have to aggressively, persistently, without ceasing, hammer out and settle within our souls that God our Father LOVES us and that He wants us to TRUST HIM (regardless of what we SEE or UNDERSTAND) and TRUST His BIGGER PICTURE! When the “bumps” get in your way …..PRESS ON!!! Aggressively, persistently, settle in your heart that your trust in God your Father will not change! Don’t bother with the “why’s” ….. just trust!!
