True Worshippers
Worship…..what does that really mean? What does that mean to YOU? Is it a favorite christian song you sing at church? In your car? In the shower?
Is it a time in church where you sing 2 fast songs and 2 slow, quiet songs? Let’s look at the definition of worship. Worship is defined as the
expression of reverence and adoration. The book of John tells us in chapter 4 verses 23 and 24, “But the hour is coming and now is, when
the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is a Spirit, and those who worship
Him must worship in spirit and truth.” So understanding that the word worship actually means an expression of reverence and adoration… Gods expectation of us from the very words of Jesus is that we would worship him with true, deep adoration, sincerity, and true reverence!!! The Bible talks about not taking the Lords name in vain… But do you WORSHIP HIM in vain?? When your singing your songs, raising your hands, tapping your feet in church, are you saying your words, singing your words in worship, in adoration, in exaltation? Or is your mind wandering while you’re singing while you’re praising? Is your worship time actually a time of prayer; A complete surrender of your heart and soul to our God and Father?? Because the Bible is very clear that God is seeking such to worship Him and that God is a spirit and those who are going to worship Him have to worship Him in spirit and truth! The word “truth” defined in the Greek here is aletheia, which denotes sincerity, integrity ( A transparency with yourself), dependability, REALITY! Ask yourself if you’re worship time is in spirit or is it just rote. Is it just something you partake of at church. TRUE WORSHIPPERS have a LIFESTYLE of worship with their Father, their Savior! It’s a lifestyle of Thanksgiving and a place of reflection where your Father can show you things !!!! Don’t just sing…..
Let’s be true worshipers!
