God is waiting to talk to you
(Isaiah 26:20)
Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, until the indignation is past.”
(Matthew 6:6)
“But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”
Notice these scriptures are urging us to “come away, spend time, ALONE, in the quietness of Him and His presence! As I’ve blogged in the past, I am one that can get running too fast in pretty much any area…. and Cleary that is NOT how God does things! This is not a race! This isn’t a competition to see who finishes first! And our call to “The Great Commission” isn’t determined by how fast we can get it accomplished…. news flash…. our call is a lifetime journey, never ending until we enter the very presence of our loving Father!
So often we can get caught up in the “going forth” on behalf of the plan and purpose of God, we can get so busy OBEYING what God has shown us that sometimes we find ourselves somehow, some way DETACHED from THE ONE who sent us in the first place!!!
Here’s a simple word of wisdom …..STOP, SLOW DOWN, and spend time with your Father!! He has things to talk with you about, share with you, impart to you! He wants you to know how loved you are! He has things to speak to your heart that no other ears hear, that are just for you! It is your time alone with your Father. Just you and Him. Privately, intimately, secretively; things that are shared only between you and him in that place! Deep, quiet whispers deep within your very soul that only you and God understand between the two of you!! That, and only that is the very cornerstone of our great commission!
