Jesus…Nothing else

Just passing along things I’ve been meditating on….
I read a book a long time ago called “Just give me Jesus” , by Anne Graham Lotz and the reason I read it was because of the title and where I was at in my walk with God and my prayer life. I had come to a place where I knew that life was and is all about Jesus ….not about church, church groups, not about missions trips, food drives, a good sermon, not about doctrinal beliefs, or theological thoughts, or Bible school! It’s simply and beautifully just about Jesus!! If you’ll take notice, you’ll see that the church at large across the world is coming together… Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Presbyterian, non- denominational ; doesn’t matter, God’s waking up his people to the most obvious …”Just give me Jesus”.
Thankfully, after ALL this time people are realizing the doctrinal differences, the theological different ways, and rules and thoughts don’t matter as long as at the foundation of their faith and at the very root of everything…. it’s Christ crucified! That is why the church is coming together…. because the realization that nothing else matters but that!!! The Bible is clear that Jesus is coming back for HIS CHURCH – not twenty-five different churches. This should’ve been a clue to all of God’s children; no matter the background, no matter the denomination, we should have been and should be as one, unified …no dividing line….one body of believers. The whole body of Christ, that’s all of us that are believers in Jesus Christ – simply and beautifully!!
In all the years we did our out-reach ministry I would always tell our people… Doesn’t matter where you’ve come from, doesn’t matter what denomination you have been or if your no denomination at all, bottom line is Christ crucified!! Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior!!! No, I’m not saying that we don’t teach the full counsel of God… I’m just saying the central focus should be Christ crucified! First and always!!
There should be no division among the body of Christ concerning doctrinal beliefs. Love each other and except each other and stay centered on Jesus Christ !!! We used to tell our out reach people… God is a big God, he will make sure you know the things that you need to know! In the meantime, as we learn and gleam understanding and revelation of his word, live and pursue your relationship with Jesus!!! Let His light shine from your life!!
