The Wanderers
You ever notice that it’s way easier to get sidetracked focusing on yourself and your own things and you’re own struggles?? Well I’ll share with you a little nugget … actually for me it’s not just sharing… It’s more like a nice swift smack upside the head sometimes because I’m not paying attention !!! (That’s how God and I communicate…haha.) So, I’ll let you in on a little bit of my butt kickin’…. Christianity 101 -SELFLESSNESS!!!! Get your eyes off yourself, your own struggles, your own journey through the wilderness or you’ll be wandering around the wilderness like the Israelites for 40 years!
Yes I said 40 years! They were so busy COMPLAINING, focusing on their OWN STRUGGLES and FEELING SORRY for themselves and NOT REMEMBERING to look back at all the things that God had ALREADY brought them through… that they wandered for 40 years instead of making it to their destination! Which, by the way, was only an 11 day trip! Yikes! Let’s not be the wandering Israelites!!!
Sometimes we get more focused on the mountain ahead of us, or the Red Sea that’s got to split, and we miss a moment, an opportunity to encourage or push somebody else through their struggle! When you give your life to Christ… The Bible says “you are not your own!” ( Romans 8:9).
Remember life’s not about you it’s about others… Selflessness!
I’m sad to say I failed miserably yesterday In This area! But thankfully we all can begin AFRESH each and every day with Jesus (our Grace) as our forerunner!!! Today is a new day! “This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!!”
I pray today for each one of us to really see others , to lose the focus of ourselves, our struggles our own selfish desires and meet the needs of others around us!
