Jesus our Shield

So as I was praying for you all this morning and praying about the armor of God for you …I was thinking about how interesting it is that the shield of faith (which has been given to us for this earthly walk) how it represents our literal faith in our Lord Jesus. Think about the picture of a soldier going into battle using his shield as protection.  If you were to do your homework on a Roman soldier’s shield you would find that they are very large and very heavy ….covering most of their body. The picture I see is our “shield of faith”  IS JESUS.  The Bible tells us how Jesus protects us, that he is omnipresent-always with us, that he fights our battles for us (IF WE LET HIM).   It’s like him stepping in front of us in battle where no attack from the enemy can get to us… The Bible says “no weapon formed against us will prosper”  (Isaiah 45:17).
If we keep it simple,  just remember your shield is your faith and your faith is Jesus Christ… He steps in FRONT of you, He goes before you, He fights your battles,  He protects you and your loved ones …so quit leaving your shield at home or in church service and quit having to be in control…PICK UP YOUR SHIELD, CARRY IT (HIM) WITH YOU WHEREVER YOU GO and let Him shield you!!

Ephesians 6:16,  “above all, taking the SHIELD OF FAITH with which you will be able to quench ALL THE FIERY DARTS of the wicked one”!!  Selah!
