Revival Within
There is much talk these days, especially more recently about revival in the church and praying for revival. I hear a lot of messages about this subject…. there are endless prayer groups praying for revival TO COME TO THE CHURCH, endless messages for revival TO COME TO THE CHURCH, endless books and articles and conversations about revival needing TO COME TO THE CHURCH….But ask yourself this… Who is the church?? Aren’t we the church???
The body of Christ IS THE CHURCH!!! Each individual Christian makes up the church… So doesn’t it make sense that revival would have to start within each individual believer first???
First Corinthian’s 12:12,27 says ” The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ….. all of you TOGETHER are Christ’s body, and each of you is a PART OF IT. Here are some of the parts God has appointed for the CHURCH ….” The translation for CHURCH in the Greek here is the assembly of the congregation, The whole body of Christians, a company of Christians gathering together.” If we are the church corporately and the scripture say that each of us makes up a part of that church or body of believers, shouldn’t we be seeking our Father concerning revival in our own lives first???? The definition of revival is to recover, to restore, to rejuvenate…. shouldn’t we be seeking and growing in God every day so we can become fully restored and fully rejuvenated so we can bring our part to the Body of Christ and function together WHOLLY as the body of CHRIST!!!!
Selah ( means to pause and think about it)
Have a rejuvenated day!
