A place called Cherith

Hello Hello Hello everyone! Wow have I missed sharing with you all!!! It’s been way too long! We have had a few “bumps” in the road including major technical difficulties with our blog domain but …..finally…. we got it up and running! Yay! So with that said, let me share with you a little something I’ve been studying….

The scene is 1 Kings 17 and Elijah has just entered the scene. A little background on Elijah…. We find right out of the shoot that Elijah is a prophet from Tishbeh, among settlers from Gilead. Tishbeh is a remote, obscure, insignificant place that to this day is “hidden”. So in other words Elijah was a nobody from nowhere. Now, after years and years of evil leadership and countless warnings, God was done! 1 Kings 16:33 tells us, “Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all … Continue Reading

The Trying of our Faith

Mark 4:35 – Mark 5:1

“Later that day, after it grew dark, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross over to the other side of the lake”. After they had sent the crowd away, they shoved off from shore with him, as he had been teaching from the boat, and there were other boats that sailed with them. Suddenly, as they were crossing the lake, a ferocious tempest arose, with violent winds and waves that were crashing into the boat until it was all but swamped. But Jesus was calmly sleeping in the stern, resting on a cushion. So they shook him, saying, “ Teacher, don’t you even care that we are all about to die?!” Fully awake, he rebuked the storm and shouted to the sea, “Hush! Calm down!” All at once, the wind stopped howling and the water became perfectly calm. Then he turned to his disciples and … Continue Reading

Not Finished Yet

Happy (Belated) Easter Everyone!!! Was trying to get this out sooner… But ….. LIFE HAPPENS!

Our REDEEMER LIVES!!!!!

Just a little nugget for y’all……

I had someone reach out and ask a question that I thought was very appropriate during our continued remembrance of this season of Jesus resurrection so I thought I would share it with you!

The question was, “Why was Jesus garments laying on the ground in the tomb, but the handkerchief that was over his face was neatly folded and set on the stone where Jesus was laid”?  John 20: 6-7 tells us that the napkin that was placed over Jesus face was not thrown aside like the grave clothes. John 20:7 tells us that the napkin was neatly folded and placed at the head of the stone where Jesus had been laid. In order to understand the significance of this one must have some understanding Continue Reading

A Bowed Heart

Luke 1:30-38    “The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his nam Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High…”And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called Holy-the Son of God…” And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”

Trust God and Do Good

These past couple of years of many ups and many downs has lead me to ponder and remind myself …. Though I walk through this life, in darkness and hardships, and in light and great joy, no matter the circumstances…. I choose to “Do Good” until….

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on HIS FAITHFULNESS. Delight your self also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”  (Psalm 37: 3-4)

These scriptures have stirred in my heart for weeks now. I believe God is reminding us to CONTINUE! Let’s take a look at verse 3 it starts out “Trust in the Lord, and do good…”  Our trust in God grows when we as believers FEED ON and REMEMBER His faithfulness in past times of trouble. We meditate on how God has faithfully brought us through each time NO … Continue Reading

Clockwise or Counterclockwise

We’ve all heard phrases throughout our lives that have become engrained is us…..phrases like, “going with the flow”, “Don’t ruffle the feathers”, “Going against the grain”, “Swimming up stream”. What do these phrases speak to? What is the connection with these words and our lives? One set of phrases (the first two) are “clockwise”, following the regular mainstream flow of something. The other is “counterclockwise’ (the other two) going the opposite direction or opposite of the mainstream flow. These phrases can sum up our Christian walk in a nut shell. Imagine such a small, rather meaningless phrase can sum up WHO we are at the end of the day…..a true Christ follower orrrrrr NOT. There has been this word I have been hooked on for quite sometime now, mulling it over and over…..Counterclockwise. We all generally understand what that word is and means….but lets look a little … Continue Reading

Godfidence

CONFIDENCE (or should I say GODFIDENCE?)

This word confidence is defined as the feeling or belief that one can RELY ON SOMEONE or something; firm trust. the state of feeling CERTAIN ABOUT THE TRUTH OF SOMETHING. This word has been stirring in me so deeply lately! Maybe it’s because all we have to do is to stop and actually look around and see the state of unrighteous, sinful, dark behavior in our world today. Right is wrong, wrong is right, good is evil, and evil is good….completely and utterly upside down and inside out!! What a tragedy church!! The bible speaks to this ….1 Timothy chapter 4 says…”Now the Spirit expressly (clearly) says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having THEIR CONSCIENCE SEARED with a hot iron…..”.  Interestingly this chapter … Continue Reading

Who’s calling the shots?

Hello my DailyArmorofGod Family!!

Just a little something I’ve been picking up on lately….

It has been quite a journey and wealth of revelation this past year for our family. Though we have had some times of sadness and very hard days, I can honestly say our God is FAITHFUL!!  The scripture Revelation 19:11 is engraved on my heart….. “I saw heaven open and there before me was a white horse whose rider is called FAITHFUL AND TRUE…And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS“. As I sit and ponder this past year, I can barely come up with words to describe God’s Grace, Lovingkindness, and His constant Faithful presence!!!  Romans 8:14 has never been more real and more true, it reads, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the … Continue Reading

In Troubled Times (Part 2)

Just over a month ago I wrote about John 14:26, The Holy Spirit (In Troubled Times)…..I encourage you to go back and re-read it if you can before continuing this blog…..

“But the Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send….”  in this portion of scripture God is showing us WHO AND WHAT we have through the Holy Spirit. With that understood, I wanted to add a little something to this, something that I recently spoke on (unfortunately at a funeral) that hopefully helps you see while going through the storms of life. Mark 4:35-38  is the account of Jesus and His disciples crossing the sea of Galilee. It begins with Jesus saying to his disciples “let us cross over to the other side.” During this “crossing over” a devastating storm rises up. Now, if we read carefully we see that the disciples … Continue Reading

In Troubled Times

John 14: 26, Jesus is speaking to His disciples telling them not to be troubled…..”But the Comforter, (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name (in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf), He will teach you all things….”.  This passage of scripture has been rolling around in me for months. It is so comforting and relieving to know the Holy Spirit is with me day in and day out.

“The definition of “troubled” is described as: beset by problems….now that is a word that certainly can describe the world today! Both individually and in our society. If we aren’t careful we can get too focused on the problems and set backs and miss what Jesus has already told us and provided for us. We’ve been given an amazing gift to navigate through our troubles….the Holy Spirit! … Continue Reading
